Heroes and Superheroes Resource from Reading Rocket

Reading Rockets’ latest resource, Start with a Book, has a Heroes and Superheroes learning theme that fits in nicely with this year’s summer reading theme, “Every Hero Has a Story.” The free resources from Start with a Book include a Reading Adventure pack for each of its 24 learning themes. –Video interviews with notable children’s book authors and illustrators related to 24 different learning themes

Science-themed activity guides that combine great books with easy hands-on activities

–An opportunity for parents to sign up for Reading Tips to Go to get simple tips and activity ideas to keep kids reading texted to their mobile phones. Subscribers to this free service receive 3-4 short messages per week—all summer long—in English or Spanish.
