Freeport Memorial Library Summer Reading Club Garden

10/11/13 – The Freeport Memorial Library kicked-off their summer reading club this past summer by planting a garden. They had a nurseryman from Atlantic Nursery come and assist with this event. As part of the program the children learned about seed cycle, healthy soil, maintaining your garden and how to successful grow a variety of plants. Over one hundred parents and children came to plant. Over the course of the summer children and parents returned again and again to maintain the garden and participate in other summer reading activities.
